The listing also leans on a University of Pennsylvania veterinary study and calls the bed clinically proven, but it does not link or describe the study, so treat that as the brand's claim. One small inconsistency: the spec table lists polyurethane foam while the title says memory foam. Big Barker, not Amazon, sells and ships it.

The spec table for this 35-inch size lists a 30-pound maximum, the larger 42-inch XL we also captured lists 15 pounds, and the bullets mention dogs from a 15 lb dachshund to a 90 lb lab, and a line that fits giant breeds up to 150 lbs. If your dog is near or over 30 pounds, don't rely on the spec table; compare the bed's dimensions with your dog. What to look for
Foam type, not the word orthopedic
Look for what the listing says the foam is. Big Barker gives a three-layer build, Laifug names 30D and 40D densities, and Bedsure names egg-crate foam.
The weight recommendation for your size
Bullets usually describe a whole product line; the spec table describes the size in your cart. When the spec doesn't make sense, as with Bedsure's, measure your dog against the bed's listed dimensions instead.
Waterproofing, and where it is
Laifug's listing describes a waterproof inner lining under the cover. Bedsure's title and spec say waterproof without describing how on the 35-inch size. Big Barker's listing does not mention waterproofing.
Usable length
Compare the bed's listed length with your dog's length stretched out on the floor. Bolsters and pillows take up part of the listed footprint.
